Our Secondary Program consist of preparatory courses which provides the education students aged between 11 and 16 need at this stage of their life and encourages them to embrace and understand the connections between traditional subjects and the real world.
Through the rigorous study of traditional subject areas and global contexts, as well as participation in extra-curricular activities and community work our students develop the knowledge, attitudes, and skills needed to participate actively and responsibly in a changing and increasingly interrelated world.
The curriculum design approaches this through conceptual Big Ideas that enable students to make connections between their learning and make meaning of the world around them, preparing them for their next stage of education and personal development for their future.
For students to become globally competent citizens, it is vital for them to develop not only a strong interest in their own and other cultures and a deep understanding of multiple perspectives, but also desire to help shape the local and global communities through actions that impact positively on society.
What we hope global competence adds to the curriculum is the sense that children are capable of influencing change.
